The focus of Jason’s practice is estate planning and administration, real estate, and business law. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law.
Jason graduated from N.C. State University in 1995 with a B.S. in Natural Resources, and in 1998 with a Master of Forestry. He then worked as a procurement forester for two small timber companies. In 2002, he began law school at Campbell University, where he served as Managing Editor of the Campbell Law Review. He graduated with a J.D., cum laude, in 2005.
For the first six years of his practice, Jason worked at a mid-sized law firm, where he primarily handled civil litigation for municipalities and corporations. He established a solo practice in 2011 to concentrate on meeting the needs of individuals, families, and small businesses.
Jason has a Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV-Preeminent. He was selected to the N.C. Super Lawyers list in Estate Planning and Probate from 2019-2024, and to the Rising Stars list in General Litigation from 2013-2015. He was also included in Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite in Tax & Estate Planning in 2019, 2023, and 2024. Jason is a North Carolina Registered Forester and a Certified Forester. He is also a member of the N.C. Bar Association, Wilson County Bar Association, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, American Agricultural Law Association, Association of Consulting Foresters, and the Society of American Foresters.
